How We're Designing Our Piggery for Natural Health
70 pens are built and stock procurement is underway ahead of our first batch. Here's how health is being designed into every layer of the piggery before a single pig arrives.
70 pens are built and commissioned at KR Farms, and stock procurement for our first batch is underway. Before a single pig arrives, we're designing the systems that will keep them healthy — because at KR Farms, wellness is built into the farm, not bolted on after the fact.
Clean Water, Clean Living
Filtered, mineral-balanced water systems, refreshed regularly, are part of the pen design — reducing contamination and disease risk from day one.
Natural Feed Formulations
Feed will be a blend of organic grains, legumes, and mineral supplements — no antibiotics, no synthetic growth boosters.
Preventive Health Monitoring
Routine checkups from our on-farm veterinary team are built into the piggery's operating plan, so illness is caught early rather than after it spreads.
Space to Roam and Root
Rather than cramped confinement, the 70 pens are spacious and well-ventilated, with rooting areas that mimic natural pig behaviour and reduce stress.
Eco-Conscious Waste Management
Waste systems are designed to protect both the pigs and the land around them — manure converted into compost to enrich our crop zones, with a zero-runoff policy for nearby water bodies.
- Anaerobic digesters for biogas
- Composting pits with microbial accelerators
- Zero runoff policy to protect nearby water bodies
We're taking expressions of interest for the first batch now. First pork is expected Q4 2026.
